DAY FOUR; CURIOSITY COLA

CURIOSITY COLA is extremely nice. But only if you like ginger, because thats the only curious ingredient in it ( sorry to those who have never tasted it before ) After galivanting around The Range to find a simple notebook and some art supplies Emma and I took a long stroll around the Dock Yard which is where my art studios are situated. It was such a beautiful day and we came across some interesting things while we explored.

The Dockyard is such an interesting place to work in, nothing looks the same and theres just a different feel in the air. No doubt i'll paint a picture of a ship one day.

DAY THREE ; MARGARET ATWOOD

“There's the story, then there's the real story, then there's the story of how the story came to be told. Then there's what you leave out of the story. Which is part of the story too.”

TODAY I had my first art induction for my university course. And the above words were the first words spoken by one of my lecturers. At first I didn't understand and I can honestly say I don't think anyone did but after she read aloud again I knew exactly what she was referring to. Art itself and how it grows, how it becomes a part of you and what is left out of art to make it art. I sat a bit dazed but it was mesmerising.

The above pictures are of some around my campus. Luckily the trees are changing and it looks beautiful.

DAY TWO ; PHOTO OBSESSED

AFTER MEETING an abundance of people whose names I mostly remembered we* all made the journey to our local university bar. It was crowed and met some other interesting people that are in the same building as me.
*we as in the group of friends I had made prior to going out.

After a few drinks, a smaller group came back to my studio, hung out and took some extremely attractive photos and this is just the first night. About 3am some of the people left in my room decided to leave and finally get some sleep. Let the freshers week begin.

DAY ONE; NEW BEGINNINGS

MY GRANDMOTHER first showed me how to paint. I watched her dip the small paintbrush into the water, twirl it around and feather it over the paper. That's where the obessession started. Sure, I had been interested in art before but this was exciting but never did I think that it was going to turn into what my life devoured. It seems that, that is all I want to do/see/feel and there is nothing I can do.

After only being in my studio flat for no less than 12 hours, I am particularly comfortable which is strange as I have no-one here that I know or have even seen yet ( maybe locking myself in my room hasn't done me any favours ). Tomorrow I will learn that I have to adventure out into the big bad world but for now I am snuggling down in my new duvet.

This is my new beginning, one of which I have worked for and have dreamed of this day for so many years now that it feels as though it has come around too quickly. I can already sense the chaos that the next few weeks hold but I cannot wait to fully embrace it with full spontaneism.

My blog entries will be full of artwork, photography and daily antics of an art student. So prepare yourself for the good, the bad and the completely extravagant.
